About Us

Console Alley is an independent magazine for console players. We report the news, test the hardware and score the games, and we publish how we do all three.

Why Console Alley exists

Console Alley started with a simple complaint: too much games coverage is written for search engines and too little for the person holding the controller. We built a magazine around the questions players ask. Is it good? Does it run well? Is it worth the money?

The name comes from the back streets where arcades and import shops used to sit. You went down the alley because someone there knew what they were talking about. That is the standard we hold ourselves to.

How we work

Reviews are played to the credits on retail consoles. Hardware is bought at retail and measured on our own bench. News needs two sources. Corrections are published at the top of the story, dated and explained.
